About YomiKamo

I’m a programmer and I’ve been studying Japanese for years. I’m still not fluent though. Language learning is an ongoing process.

Since I enjoy programming and creating things, and since I enjoy learning Japanese, this site was a natural result of that. I like the idea of WaniKani for learning how to read, but the execution left a lot to be desired in my opinion. I thought I could do better, so I created this app.

So YomiKamo is an independent project so far. Every time I make an update to the site, I just ask myself, “Is this helpful for learning how to read Japanese?” And that drives my decision.
