Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how YomiKamo (operated by Forethought Studio, France) collects, uses, and stores information when you use the Service.

What we collect

• Account data: email address, display name, and authentication metadata (e.g., verification state).
• Study data: lesson/review history, SRS state, study time, accuracy, and item progress.
• Inputs you provide: custom synonyms, settings, and messages submitted via the Contact form.

Local storage and offline sync

To make the app fast and resilient on flaky connections, YomiKamo stores some data in your browser (for example, cached dashboard data and a small outbox of review answers that could not be synced yet). When connectivity is restored, the app retries syncing automatically.

How we use data

• Operate the Service (lessons, reviews, progress tracking).
• Improve content quality (aggregate wrong-answer trends and study stats).
• Provide support when you contact us.

Third parties

The Service uses some third-party providers:

• Cloudflare Turnstile (CAPTCHA) on public forms to reduce abuse.
• Optional authentication providers (e.g., Google sign-in) if enabled by the site operator.
• Optional audio generation (Google Text-to-Speech) if enabled by the site operator.

Retention and deletion

We retain your account and study data while your account remains active so the Service can function.

You can request deletion via Account deletion. After you confirm the request, deletion is scheduled after a 29-day grace period to protect against accidental deletion. During the grace period you can cancel the deletion request.

Operational logs and backups may persist for a limited period after deletion (for example, up to 90 days).

Security

We use industry-standard measures appropriate for a web application, including secure cookies and request protection for forms and APIs. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong password and keep your device secure.
